Shwdesh Desk: The returning officers allotted electoral symbols to the mayoral candidates for contesting elections to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The symbols were allotted on Friday morning.

Awami League nominated candidate Atiqul Islam and BNP supported Tabit Awal get “Boat” and “Sheaf of Paddy” symbols respectively to contest in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) polls.
However, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh of AL and Ishraq Hossain of BNP received “Boat” and “Sheaf of Paddy” symbols respectively to contest in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) polls.

Now the candidates can start the election campaign formally in a bid to contest the elections scheduled to be held on January 30.

The campaign will continue till 32 hours before voting starts at 8:00am on January 30.
